Gandhi God Se - Ek Yudh{2023}

Story line:-

Rajkumar Santoshi is the film's writer, director, and producer, and Manila Santoshi is the film's producer. Gandhi Godse – Ek Yudh is a 2023 Indian-Hindi language alternate history film. Chinmay Mandlekar and Deepak Antani play the lead roles in the movie. Godse holds Gandhi accountable for Hindu division and suffering. On January 30, 1948, he shoots Gandhi, but Gandhi miraculously survives and pardons Godse. Gandhi begins his Gram Swaraj Movement to encourage villages to become self-sufficient after breaking his ties to the Congress. In the meantime, the system draws attention to the writings of Godse and manipulates public opinion against Gandhi, whose interference has sparked controversy within the government. Gandhi is arrested as a result, but he insists on serving with Godse. In prison, they engage in numerous debates, arguments, and even confrontations. Will their disagreements be resolved by this ideological conflict?

In pre-release promotions, Santoshi admitted that it was difficult to secure funding for such a large-scale film with a potentially contentious subject. He added that investors started showing interest in the film only after composer A. R. Rahman accepted the role, and that the movie might not have been made if Rahman had said "no."

The filming began on September 20, 2020, and was completed on May 6, 2022. Mumbai and Bhopal were the primary locations.Critics gave the movie mixed reviews, praising the performances, visual style, and cinematography while criticizing the story and screenplay.Santoshi had sought police protection after allegedly receiving threats in the dispute over the film's context.

On January 26, 2023, the film was released in India on the occasion of the Indian Republic Day.
